District Plan Review
On 7 July 2016, the Manawatu District Council resolved to withdraw Proposed Plan Changes 52, 55 and 60 to the Operative Manawatu District Plan and re-notify them on 14 July 2016.
The plan changes were withdrawn due to a procedural error arising from the local newspaper failing to publish, as requested, the Public Notice of the Proposed Plan Changes as scheduled on 2 May 2016.
The Public Notice of Proposed Plan Changes 52, 55 and 60 - which remain the same in form and substance is now open (as at 14 July 2016).
Every Council has to write and produce a District Plan and then review it every 10 years. A lot can happen in 10 years – different development pressures emerge, economic situations change, legislative changes are enacted and new issues need to be taken into account. The Manawatu District Council is reviewing our District Plan in sections.
